On Friday August 20th at 6:00 PM we will be hosting the First Ever Blackberry Mile. It will be on Manson Avenue starting up in front of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, but we will have registration & parking in front of Edgehill School.
The entry fee is $10 per person or $20 per family and any left over fees will be donated to Canuck Place.
And we have prize money!!! There will be $100 cash waiting for the 1st Female and another $100 cash for the 1st Male. After the race is over, you can wander over to Avid Fitness to have a shower and then head down to the Street Party at 7:00 PM on Marine Avenue.
Now if you want to preview the course, we start at Kingdom Hall and run down Manson towards Duncan Street. The finish line is at the driveway into Emerald Lane which is just a little less than 200 metres after Duncan Street. You can see the finish all of the way from the start. This thing is like a real drag race! It is a chance to burn 100 calories as fast as you can. And there is slightly more downhill than level ground or uphill. So this might be the fastest mile that you ever run in your life. Spread the word!
