2011 race

Start your trail running year smoothly! This course challenges your fitness without breaking your stride. You can run every inch of this course. You are on a softer and more forgiving surface, you are running amongst trees and over streams, and you are away from the traffic.

Runners for both events start together and cover the first 2.5K together — the site of the water station. 5K runners turn back at that point and return back on the same route. It will be very muddy! 5K runners only do about 100 feet of elevation before turning around the water station. 10K runners carry on upwards, rising another 400 vertical feet. The loop that they follow carries them back to the water station again and they return to Avid on the same trail they used in the opening 2.5K. There is no true single-track on this course, but some of the double-track on the 10K course is still rocky & a little technical. Keep your eyes peeled!

The real reward, other than the sense of accomplishment, is the FREE pancake & sausage, all you-can-eat breakfast that follows the event.
